A Holy Hush!

A Holy Hush!

Jan 13 – 2:31 am, I heard the still small voice of the Lord …

“There’s a holy hush settling in amongst my people.  They are beginning to hear the still small voice.  Elijah listened in the wind, the earthquake, and the fire, but God wasn’t in them. Then he heard God in the still small whisper.  As we settle in and settle down, we will hear the Lord calling us to trust him and to take our hands off the steering wheel.

” It’s a solemn time.  I’m calling my people into a time of reverence and awe of Me.  It’s time to listen to Me and put your trust (confidence) in Me”.

I hear the words to the song … There’s a kind of hush all over the world.  All over the world, people just like us are falling in love … with our God.

I feel the hush settling in upon my mind and my emotions.  The raging battle that has been whirling around is now becoming a holy hush.  A reverential fear and wonder of God. As we ”Be still and know that He is God”, we are actually bowing our hearts and allowing God to do what He wants to do.  We are taking our hands off the wheel and yielding our will, our plans, our desires to His.

It’s as though I can feel this settling upon me.  Going from the firestorm of warfare and information (dis-information) to the awestruck wonder of the Almighty. I hear the silence of the night time when everyone and everything comes to a halt from their work.  A time where men begin to rest.  Settle upon us Holy Spirit that we will stop our striving, and being tossed ‘to and fro’, but instead we will ‘be still’ and watch your handiwork.

“I’m calling my people to be still and to know that I am God.  I, your God, am at work.  I have heard your prayers and now I am answering them.  You will see and soon you will know when and how.  Trust Me.  I’m sending my calm before the storm.  You are in the eye of the hurricane, but soon the storm will hit.  Stay calm and let me do what I have told you I will do”

Then he was told, “Go, stand on the mountain at attention before God. God will pass by.” A hurricane wind ripped through the mountains and shattered the rocks before God, but God wasn’t to be found in the wind; after the wind an earthquake, but God wasn’t in the earthquake; after the earthquake fire, but God wasn’t in the fire and after the fire a gentle and quiet whisper. When Elijah heard the quiet voice, he muffled his face with his great cloak, went to the mouth of the cave, and stood there. 1 Kings 19:11-13

I have much to say on this subject, but it will be in the next blog! In the meantime… Please … let’s hear the hush, the calm, the still small voice of the Lord. Be still and know that He is God! This means we will have to choose to quit partaking of all the firestorm of dis-information that has been consuming even God’s people as we have sought to understand. We desperately want to see God ACT and it has sent us into the wind, the earthquake, and the fire … being tossed to and fro by every video flying around. Instead of trusting God, perhaps we have been caught up in the scheme of dis-information and lying voices? Let’s be discerning as to what and how we hear what we hear! For remember that … “You shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free”!

Choose this day for yourself. I pray you will let the peace of God be your umpire! (Col 3:15 amplified)
